🍂 Fall Bucket List in & Around Mount Airy - Free Printable! 🍂

The official start of fall begins Wednesday, September 22. Check out these great ideas to celebrate the change of seasons in and around Mount Airy, NC. Scroll to the bottom for the FREE printable to check off all the fun and to add your own family traditions. 

• Bake a Pie - Try this recipe for A Personal Pumpkin Pie!  
• Jump in a Pile of Leaves - I loved doing this as a kid!  I still remember the smell of those leaves and the feeling of the fall crisp air. 
• Carve Pumpkins - Pick up a pumpkin or two from one of our local farms Armstrong Artisan Farm or Miss Angels U-Pick Farm and carve away!  Or you can decorate your pumpkin with these no-knife ideas. 

• Drive the Blue Ridge Parkway and stop for a picnic.  The fall foliage peaks mid to late October and the colors are amazing!
• Make a Fall Craft - These flower pinecones are fun for a rainy fall day.
• Go on a Hayride - Armstrong Artisan Farms is offering Hayrides this year.  Check the calendar for details.
• Run Through a Corn Maze - The Farm Dobson and Roberston Family Farm have corn mazes open this fall!
• Drink Apple Cider - Drink it ice cold or warm with mulling spices.
• Toss a Football - The kids love a game a catch with mom or dad! 
• Press Leaves in a Book - The fall foliage is loaded with bright colors and cool shapes.  Press a pretty leaf in a book to save forever. 

• Make S'mores - Go classic with an outdoor bonfire, or try this recipe for indoor fun on a smaller scale. 
• Roast Pumpkin Seeds - After carving, save those seeds!  Rinse them, pat dry, toss in a bowl with olive oil, salt, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper. Spread out on a pan and roast at 350 degrees for 12-15 mins. Yum!  
• Make Applesauce - Pick your favorite apples and pull out the crock pot.  This recipe is super simple and delicious.
• Watch a Family Fall Movie - Cozy up by the fireplace with a blanket, popcorn, and a fun movie.  Some of our favorites are The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (G), Pocahontas (G), ET (PG), Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone (PG), Remember the Titans (PG), and Hocus Pocus (PG).
